About the Author
William Young is Professor of Religious Studies at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. In addition to The World’s Religions: Worldviews and Contemporary Ethical Issues (3rd edition, 2009) he is co-author (with Christian Hauer) of the widely-adopted textbook An Introduction to the Bible: A Journey into Three Worlds (Prentice Hall, 7th edition, 2008) and author of Quest for Harmony: Native American Spiritual Traditions (Hackett Press, 2006). During a thirty-five year teaching career, he has introduced generations of students to the world’s religions and taught a wide variety of special topic courses ranging from Religion and Politics to Spiritual Ecology: Religion and Nature.

Required for class

I bought this for class, the book is very well set up and everything.
The information in the book was no intriguing to me because I am not interested in religion but I did learn a lot that I did not know.
My mom actually read it for fun and said it was good.
I come from a non religious family but both my parents were raised Catholic.

Prof. Young's approach is refreshing. In terms of content, I would have liked to see a bit more about Muslim, Jewish, and Christian interaction and scholarly collaboration in medieval Spain.

Had to read this book for my religion class. Each section outlines a different religion or movement. Was required to do weekly essays and this book was a life saver. Gives a great non bias view on every religion!
